SD Legislative Committees Pushing Ahead on Redistricting

Committees from both the South Dakota House and Senate are working to fast-track new legislative district maps in time for a special session in November.

During a hearing last week, Legislative Research Council lawyer Matt Frame, outlined some of the map drawing issues….

Frame says they also are working around the edges of the Sioux Falls area….

Frame says they also have made changes in south east areas of the state…

LRC staff have drawn up at least seven maps to give lawmakers some options.

The committees meet again next week.
