A legislative committee dealing with nursing home and assisted living beds met in Pierre Thursday.
The committee has been trying to find ways to match available beds with the populations that need them.
Senator Jim Bradford of Pine Ridge says it seems beds are available, but it depends on who is paying……

Committee Chairman, Representative Wayne Steinhauer of Hartford says nursing homes can only take so many Medicaid patients…..

Representative Karen Soli of Sioux Falls says they also need to take a look at staffing levels and pay…..

The committee will meet again later this fall and possibly propose some legislation for the 2017 session.
