SD Legislative Committee Studying Mental Health Access

A legislative committee studying mental health issues and services is meeting in Pierre.

The “Access to Mental Health Services Study” has met three times this year and listened to hours of testimony on the issues surrounding mental health treatment in the state.

Committee Chair, Senator Deb Soholt of Sioux Falls says she feels they have made a good start in understanding the issues….

Soholt says she expects the committee to pull together much of the information they have gathered through the interim….

Soholt says she is optimistic the committee can come up with some legislative recommendations at the end.
