A legislative committee looking at the expanding numbers and costs of special education agreed to set up a task force to continue the discussion.
The “Extraordinary Cost Fund for Special Education” committee met Tuesday in Pierre.
Fifty-four school districts have drained the fund set up to help with special education costs.

Besides the task force, the committee also approved resolutions dealing with an oversight board, and a set aside adjustment for the fund.
