A South Dakota legislative committee began a hearing on medical marijuana Wednesday focusing on the medical, legal and technical aspects of “IM26” which was approved by voters last November.
South Dakota State Medical Association President Dr Benjamin Aaker says they were opposed to the ballot issue..
Aaker says doctors have concerns about the physical impacts of marijuana..
Aaker says “IM26” is a work around, focused on the marijuana plant, not any medical benefits..
The committee holds another day of hearings Thursday.
