Senator Larry Tideman of Brookings has invited Joop  Bollen of Aberdeen to appear at the next meeting of the Government Operations and Audit Committee on September 24th.
Bollen is one of those at the center of the ongoing EB-5 visa investment program. Much of that investment was directed toward the Northern Beef Packing plant in Aberdeen, which filed for bankruptcy.
Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, a member of the committee, says she isn’t sure what Bollen can add to the ongoing discussion……….

Hunhoff says their committee has had several meetings about the EB-5 program…………

Hunhoff says Bollen is not required to talk to the committee……

A motion to subpoena Bollen at their last meeting failed for the lack of a second. The EB-5 program has become an issue in both the Senate and Governor’s race this year.
