The Rules Review Committee of the South Dakota Legislature approved guidelines that bring the state into compliance with federal rules dealing with care for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says the bottom line is less duplication of services to those individuals….
Hunhoff says the changes are based on federal mandated “conflict free case management” and doesn’t change the money spent on the services…..
Hunhoff says there will be some changes for individuals and their families that depend on the programs…..
Hunhoff says about thirty-seven hundred people in the state are now using those services.
