SD Legislative Committee Adds Oversight to State Education Department

Following a report on student standardized test scores, members of the Government Operations and Audit Committee of the South Dakota legislature voted to set up a special task force to oversee the Department of Education.
Senator Jack Kolbeck of Sioux Falls outlined what the subcommittee should investigate..

The motion came after Department Secretary Ben Jones was questioned about the test scores that have been flat for the last three years.
