SD Lawmakers Talking About Ballot Issue Changes

The Initiative and Referendum Task Force of the South Dakota Legislature meets again Wednesday in Pierre. The committee was set up in response to problems that came up with ballot issues last fall.
Senator Jim Bolin of Canton says he doesn’t think there is much to change with referendums…….

Bolin says lawmakers want to give the Legislative Research Council more time to put together details on ballot issues….

Bolin says he wants to make changes in the voting majority needed for constitutional amendments…..

The task force will also take public comments before deciding on any legislation for next years session.
