The Joint Appropriations Committee of the South Dakota legislature is meeting today, ahead of the start of the 2016 session tomorrow.
Committee member, Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says they wanted to get a head start to the process…..

Hunhoff says the overall budget bill will be handled outside the normal legislative process….

Normally the budget bill is heavily amended then passed on the last day of the session. Hunhoff says the new process should change that….

The session starts with the Governors State of the State speech tomorrow afternoon.
