The Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature meets Friday in Pierre.
The group will get an update on the Obligation Recovery Center, which just was rolled out this month.
Senator Bill Van Gerpen of Tyndall says that is a much anticipated update…..
The ORC will work to collect past due debts to the state. Some guesses are that as much as thirty million dollars could be outstanding.
The committee will also hear a report on the final revenue numbers for fiscal year 2016 that closed at the end of June.
The initial report showed about a fourteen million dollar surplus.
Van Gerpen says that money could have gone to health care providers…..

Legislators will also hear revenue estimates for 2017.
