Federal inspectors have criticized the Human Services Center in Yankton for the treatment of some patients, and the lack of some levels of accreditation.
The state run facility is the only full scale psychiatric hospital in the state.
Administrator Troy Jones answered questions from the Government Operations and Audit Committee in Pierre Tuesday.
Jones says the hospital has the same challenges as most similar institutions across the country…..
Jones told the committee they still have a number of vacant jobs….
Jones says they are also making changes to enhance safety for employees and patients…..
Jones says they are working on employee training, and also installing new furniture and security cameras.
