Polak says homelessness is scattered across the state…..

Polak says a possible solution to help make a dent in the homeless or doubled up population is to create more affordable housing…

Polak says the issue is complex and many areas of the state have adequate jobs, but may not have a “livable” wage. In other jobs, the skill set might not be there for the potential employee.

SDHHC is conducting the survey this month to determine some of the barriers there might be for those who live in doubled up or inadequate housing.
