SD House Passes Sales Tax Cut

The South Dakota House approved a bill to reduce the state sales tax rate on a vote of sixty six to three.

One of those three “No” votes was from District 18 Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton…..

Stevens says they don’t have a comprehensive plan to address those critical issues….

Stevens says the current budget plan underfunds many important services…..

The sales tax cut would roll the rate back from four-point five percent to four point two percent. It would be a cut of just over one hundred million dollars in ongoing sales tax revenues.
