The South Dakota House failed to override Governor Kristi Noem’s veto of HB1193, the Uniform Commercial Code rewrite.

District 18 Representative Julie Auch of Lesterville led the opponents of the override.….

Auch says the federal government is already moving in that direction….

Bill sponsor, District 18 Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says there was no push to amend the bill during the committee process….

The override was defeated on a vote of 37 to 30.
