South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will ask legislators to ban the teaching of “active civics” and “critical race theory” in K – 12 schools.
She says the ban on active civics would put the focus back on “true history”………
Noem says critical race theory focuses on divisive topics….
State history standards are being rewritten by the state Education Department. Noem says the new state laws will fit with those standards…
Both of those bills have been introduced by the House Education Committee.
