South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has appointed current District 19 Representative Kyle Schoenfish of Scotland to the vacant District 19 Senate seat. That opened with the resignation of Senator Stace Nelson of Fulton.

Schoenfish, who would have been term limited in the House, had earlier said he would run for the Senate seat in November….

The Governor also appointed Marty Overweg of New Holland to the House seat in District 19.
