South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will introduce legislation on statewide zoning to promote business development in the state. At the Black Hills Stock Show she announced the state is open for business for any operations looking to start up or expand in rural South Dakota.

She says the legislation will also define who an aggrieved person is and provides a disincentive for nuisance lawsuits and appeals.

Noem says at the same time the bill does not take away local control but would require conditional use permits be approved if they meet the county zoning criteria.

Noem says the legislation has broad based support in the state legislature and several state lawmakers showed their support at the announcement.
