A number of bills dealing with pistol permits and concealed carry are moving though the South Dakota legislature.
Governor Dennis Daugaard says he thinks a gun permit should be a basic requirement…..
Daugaard says the current system for getting a carry permit is pretty simple….
One bill that has passed the House, (HB1156) would allow a concealed handgun in the capitol building if a person has an enhanced carry permit.
Daugaard says he doesn’t think there is a necessity for that……
Daugaard was pretty clear about the fate of the bill if it gets to his desk….
The bill will next be heard in the Senate State Affairs Committee.
