Democratic candidate for Governor, Senator Billie Sutton of Burke, has spent most of the time since he announced in May, traveling the state, listening to ideas, issues and worries.
Sutton says many people are concerned with the economy, and how to get ahead. He says much of that is tied to the cost of higher education…..
Sutton says the state could help by dropping the sales tax on food, a position he has backed for several years…..
Sutton says there could be different priorities for state spending too……
Sutton is unopposed for the democratic nomination. Republicans, Attorney General Marty Jackley and Congresswoman Kristi Noem are the two major republican candidates. Lora Hubbel and Terry LeFleur have also said they are running for the nomination.
