Watertown will become the hub of South Dakota Republican Party politics this week as the state GOP convention is held Thursday thru Saturday.
Watertown Mayor Ried Holien says in addition to the candidates that will appear on the ballot in November, hundreds of convention delegates from across the state will be in town.
He says even if you’re not a delegate, you can still come out and watch the proceedings..
He says first on the agenda is adopting their platform…..
Holien has a big job. He’s in charge of running the convention, and keeping things in order…
At the convention, nominations will be handed out for Lieutenant Governor, Public Utilities Commissioner, Attorney General, State Auditor, State Treasurer, Secretary of State, and Commissioner of School and Public Lands.
