South Dakota is getting some help to promote increased ethanol usage in the state. That’s due in part to a $1.5 million USDA Commodity Credit Corporation grant awarded to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Ethanol Infrastructure Program Manager Paul Mehlhaff says $2 million in matching money has been added to the $1.5 million grant and will go towards blender pump installation.
He says part of the grant and matching funds will also help with the installation of either underground or above ground ethanol storage tanks.
Mehlhaff says those interested in the program can make application online.
Mehlhaff says if there are any funds left following the first signup, there will be additional funding rounds April 15 and June 15.
