An online petition drive is underway in South Dakota, asking for further hearings on the GEAR UP program.
That was the federal funding at the center of issues with Mid Dakota Educational Cooperative in Platte. Three former employees will stand trial this summer in connection with embezzlement charges.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, a member of the Government Operations and Audit Committee, says a report from the Auditor General will be heard at their June meeting….

Hunhoff says they need to wait on the full report…..

The GEAR UP program also receive millions of dollars in federal funding. Hunhoff says their committee can only follow state dollars that may have been involved….

The committee is scheduled to meet June 6th.
