The Government Operations and Audit Committee of the South Dakota legislature got another update from the state Tourism Department at their hearing in Pierre yesterday. (Monday)
Deputy Tourism Department Secretary Wanda Goodman explained their targets and results coming off the 2020 pandemic year…..

Visitor spending increased thirty percent in 2021, to four point four billion dollars.
Goodman also explained where the federal pandemic dollars they got are going…..

Goodman was also asked about their tracking methods….

Goodman says they expect to have their 2022 financial results available in mid-January.
