The Government Operations and Audit Committee of the South Dakota Legislature meets again, this time by conference call, Monday. There is no agenda item dealing with the GEAR UP funding issue this time.
Committee Vice Chair, Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they are done with that issue for now…..
Hunhoff says they don’t feel they can get much new information while the criminal process is underway…..
The state has filed charges against three people from the former Mid Central Educational Cooperative who were involved with managing the grants.
Hunhoff says the committee has a number of other oversight functions they have to catch up…….
She says they could return to GEAR UP at a later date if needed.
