The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department and South Dakota State University have partnered to conduct a one-year study on the use and economic importance of small lakes across the state.
Fisheries Program Administrator, Geno Adams says they need some basic information…
Adams says they know what the larger reservoirs, and lakes in the northeast and southeast produce, but don’t know much about the smaller lakes and ponds…….
The seven lake study includes: Scott Lake and Lake Alvin near Sioux Falls; Brakke (brach-ee) Dam, Fate Dam and Byre (by-ree) Lake near Kennebec and Presho; and New Underwood Lake and Curlew Lake near New Underwood.
GF&P and SDSU personnel will interview anglers and other boaters using these waters throughout the year.
