The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department is sponsoring a day long presentation on the spreading zebra mussel problem.

The seminar will be held Thursday at the Kelly Inn in Yankton.
The fast spreading mussels have been found in the Missouri River and Lewis & Clark Lake. They attach themselves to any hard surface under water including docks and intake pipes.

Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator Mike Greiner says much of the program will be aimed at river irrigators trying to control the spread…

Greiner says they will have some outside specialists sharing what they have learned….

Greiner says they also want irrigators to be aware of outside contractors working in the lake or river..

The seminar will run from 9AM to 5PM at the Kelly Inn in Yankton.
