The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department hosted a daylong meeting in Yankton dealing with the spread of zebra mussels. The invasive species have now been found in the Missouri River and Lewis & Clark Lake.

The zebra mussels attach to hard surfaces and can clog water pipelines and filters. The razor sharp shells also create a hazard for those using beaches.
