SD Game, Fish & Parks Gets Update on CWD Control Plans

The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Commission got an update at their Friday meeting on plans to control the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in deer and elk herds in the state.
Wildlife Program Administrator Chad Switzer says they are reaching out to taxidermists and game processors across the state…

Switzer says they will ask for some help in monitoring the possible spread of the disease…

Switzer says they plan to bring a draft plan to the commission in April…..

Switzer says they would recommend that any changes needed for deer or elk hunting be implemented for the 2020 hunting seasons.
Game, Fish & Parks will host seven open houses this month across the state to get input on the disease and control efforts.
