South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem says she’ll be visiting with President Trump soon and will ask for higher blends of ethanol to be approved, specifically E30. She made the comments while speaking at Glacial Lakes Energy’s annual meeting. South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke says they’re encouraged by Noem’s support and the letter she and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who chairs the Governor’s Biofuels Coalition, recently wrote to the President outlining the benefits of E30.

He says it makes sense to allow the use of E30 because of its economic and environmental benefits.

Sombke says EPA has not followed the President’s wishes on other biofuels issues. However, he thinks Governor Noem will be able to convince the President to allow E30.

Sombke says South Dakota Farmers Union has provided information to Governor Noem regarding the benefits and need for E30.
