South Farm Bureau has hired a new Executive Director. Krystil Smit of Centerville will be taking over as head of the organization on October 12. President Scott VanderWal says she brings a wealth of agricultural experience to the position.

He says with the changes in agriculture they wanted an executive director that could help lead them into that next era and they believe Smit fits the bill.

VanderWal says it’s an exciting time for Smit to be joining the organization as South Dakota Farm Bureau just set a record for membership topping 16,000.
