The Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Social Services, Lynne Valenti appeared before the Government Operations and Audit Committee of the Legislature on Friday.
Members of the committee had asked Valenti about the vacant Administrator position at the Human Services Center in Yankton. Former Administrator Ric Compton left that job in late March.
Valenti says they want to find the right person for the job………
Valenti told the committee they have changed the requirements for the job……
She says it took a year the last time there was an opening at that position.
Valenti says besides advertising the open job, they are working with a recruitment firm…………
Valenti says in the meantime, Assistant DSS Secretary Amy Iverson-Pollreisz (poll-reece) has been working as acting administrator.
