About one third of the legislative seats up for election this fall in South Dakota have already been decided. The lack of challengers, and candidates dropping off the ballot are behind most of those non-races.

Among those advancing to Pierre is Craig Kennedy of Yankton. He will become the state Senator from District 18.
Independent candidate Matt Stone withdrew from the race last week.

Kennedy says he has already started on his homework…..

Kennedy, a democrat, isn’t worried about working in a small minority……

Kennedy says he does have several legislative interests…..

Kennedy is a former states attorney, and has a law firm. He will replace incumbent Senator Bernie Hunhoff who chose not to run for re-election.
