The Keystone crude oil pipeline that stretches from north to south across eastern South Dakota was shut down Saturday afternoon, after what was described as an “incident” occurred in Hutchinson County.

Brian Walsh is an environmental scientist with the state DENR….

Walsh says contractors working for pipeline owner TransCanada were working on the site….

Walsh says the pipeline will not be restarted until federal officials give clearance…..
The pipeline originates in the tar sands of Canada, and terminates in Cushing Oklahoma.
