South Dakota democratic Senate candidate Rick Weiland has released his multi point agriculture and rural policy position paper.
He says rural parts of the state need a duel strategy, strengthening the traditional bases of agriculture and small manufacturing and building new infrastructure to allow those places to compete.
Weiland would peg part of that strategy to expanding the use of E-30 fuels…
He says there should be a push to expand high speed broadband internet, which should be free of interference…………
Weiland says there also has to be access to dependable rail transportation……………
He would back a federal-state infrastructure trust fund to build roads, call for a moratorium on the closure of rural post offices, and work to reform the farm commodity and crop insurance programs.
Weiland faces republican Mike Rounds and independents Gordon Howie and Larry Pressler in the November election.
