The democratic candidate for the US Senate in South Dakota says his financial statement points out the problem of money in politics.
Jay Williams of Yankton, who is challenging incumbent republican Senator John Thune, has just under six thousand dollars in his campaign fund, according to the Federal Election Commission.
Thune, at the same time, had over eleven million dollars on hand.
Williams says that is way more than Thune needs………
Williams says it shows how money is overpowering political campaigns…..
Williams says he expects to raise more, but has no chance to come close to matching Thune….
Thune, who is seeking his third Senate term, did not have an opponent in 2010.
