State Senator Billie Sutton of Burke, who is running for the democratic nomination for Governor in South Dakota, is making government transparency a major issue in his campaign. He sponsored several bills in this year’s legislative session to open more government records, with mixed results.
He says it shouldn’t be a partisan issue…..

Sutton is unopposed for the democratic nomination. Congresswoman Kristi Noem and Attorney General Marty Jackley are seeking the republican nomination.
