The South Dakota Supreme Court will hear a case later this month that could lead to online retailers paying sales taxes across the country.
Senator Deb Peters of Hartford was the sponsor of the bill passed last year that is at the center of the challenge. She says it is another step to getting sales taxes back to the states…..

Peters was in Washington before the recess, testifying in favor of a law enforcing nationwide online sales taxes. She says going through Congress is the preferred route…..

Peters says they are getting close to the support they need in Congress…

It has been estimated that South Dakota is missing up to fifty million dollars a year in uncollected online sales taxes.
