The South Dakota Department of Corrections has hired a California consulting company to do an extensive study of operations at the state penitentiary in Sioux Falls.

Reisch says the contract will be paid out of their general funds.

Governor Kristi Noem fired the warden and deputy warden of the prison earlier this summer. She says the results of the consultant’s study will be released once it is finished.
