SD Co-ops Don’t See Major Change from Repeal of Net Neutrality

The repeal of net neutrality rules by the FCC shouldn’t have an impact on rural internet users.
Greg Dean with the South Dakota Telecommunications Association says they don’t expect to see any changes in services provided by their members……

In most rural areas, broadband internet is provided by the local telephone co-op.
Dean says there may be some different levels of service in the future…..

Dean says one big difference is that their member cooperatives are owned by the customers…..

Opponents of the rules rollback are concerned that large internet providers could pick winners and losers among website operators.
