SD Cities & Counties Can Get Help Tearing Down Abandoned Houses

Towns and counties in South Dakota will be able to get financial assistance from the state to demolish run down and abandoned houses and buildings.

Greg Henderson, Executive Director of Planning & Development District Three in Yankton says the program is called “Bulldoze, Build and Beautify.”…………….

Henderson says there are some conditions with the program…..

Henderson, appearing before the Yankton County Commission, says there has to be a plan for the property being cleared…..

Henderson says its estimated there are up to three thousand structures across the state that could qualify to be torn down.
