President Obama has nominated D.C. Circuit Judge Merrick Garland to the U.S. Supreme Court. South Dakota Attorney Todd Wilkinson who serves as President of the State Cattlemen’s Association says his concern is if Garland’s nomination is approved it may negatively impact agriculture.
He says it would be better if a new President were given the chance to nominate the next Supreme Court Justice.
Wilkinson says even the Vice President noted in the past it should be up to the newly elected President to make any decision on a Supreme Court Justice nominee.
Senate Republican leaders so far are refusing to even bring the nominee up for consideration.
