South Dakota cattle producer Todd Wilkinson, the Vice Chairman of the Policy Division for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association testified in front a Senate subcommittee last week. He told them contrary to the claims of environmentalists, cattle producers are having a positive impact on the climate

He says many environmentalists and animal activists are trying to drive the beef industry out of business by using non scientific and inaccurate claims.

Wilkinson says there are so many practices producers are using to positively impact climate change. He says that’s a message the general public and some policy makers need to hear.

Wilkinson says there’s a move by some in Congress to place a carbon tax squarely on the shoulders of agriculture.
