The South Dakota Board of Regents are still working through an updated policy on paying for maintenance and repair of the buildings on the six campuses.

Regents President Bob Sutton of Sioux Falls says there are new buildings going up at all the universities……

All new buildings at the universities are built with privately raised dollars, but the state is responsible for continued upkeep.

Sutton says the issue will be back on future agendas…..

Sutton says they have to adjust their budget to cover the upcoming costs….

Upcoming projects include new football stadiums at Northern State and Dakota State, major upgrades to the Dakotadome at USD, an expansion of the Performing Arts Center, and a new Precision Ag Building at SDSU.
