There has been a building boom of sorts at the six state universities over the past few years. That also means there are a number of older buildings not being used as much.
The South Dakota Board of Regents has been doing a study on building usage.

In notes for their meeting last week at Dakota State University, hours of classroom usage per week ranged from just under twenty-five at SDSU, to just over sixteen at Northern State. The goal is thirty-five hours per week.
