The South Dakota Board of Regents will now allow multi-year contracts for certain head coaches, athletic directors and presidents.
The action came about because the University of South Dakota wanted to offer a multi-year deal to new football coach Bob Nielson.

Nielson will be paid two hundred fifty five thousand dollars a year.
