The South Dakota Beef Industry Council will be promoting beef as a superior protein for seniors and athletes at the Sanford Invitational Senior PGA Tournament this week in Sioux Falls. Executive Director Suzy Geppart says they’re thrilled to be able to showcase their product at the golf event.

Geppart says they’re also targeting seniors with their “Build your Base with Beef” campaign, which focuses on how the nutritional value of beef can refuel the body after physical activity.

Council Member and South Dakota Stock Growers President Gary Deering says the golf tournament also provides a chance to talk about beef to thousands of consumers from outside the state.

Deering says countless research studies prove lean beef is a nutritionally dense and healthy protein for all ages.

The South Dakota Beef Industry Council is hosting the Rethink the Ranch Tent where golfing spectators and guests will enjoy South Dakota prime-beef.

Jim Reimler of WNAX is broadcasting live from the event Thursday and Friday in conjunction with the South Dakota Beef Council!

The Sanford International Presented by Cambria, the first ever PGA TOUR Champions event to be contested in South Dakota, will be played at Minnehaha Country Club the week of September 17-23, and will feature a $1.8 million purse. A five-year agreement is in place through 2022. In its inaugural year, the Sanford International will focus on charitable giving and making a lasting impact in Sioux Falls.
