The Better Business Bureau Serving Central Florida and the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, the national charity monitoring arm of the Better Business Bureau are cautioning donors about potential red flags in fund raising to help Orlando victims and their families, in the wake in the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.
South Dakota state BBB Director, Jessie Schmidt, says unfortunately these red flags are a common occurrence…..

Schmidt says to watch out for fake GoFund Me and Facebook accounts. She says the best bet is to donate to organizations that have been around for a while……

Schmidt says an example of a credible organization could include a local community foundation. Schmidt also says a credible organization should have a description about what the funds will be used for….

Schmidt says when we give, we have a responsibility to ensure our dollars go exactly where we want them to.
