South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says he can’t simply look the other way when it comes to the enforcement of the state’s marijuana laws. Jackley says he has tried to remain very open to the public and Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe about the State law prohibiting both the internal or physical possession of Marijuana….
Regardless, the tribe has begun growing marijuana on the reservation and is looking at a New Year’s Eve opening for their resort.
Jackley says tribal members would be within their right to use marijuana on their own tribal lands, however non-Indians would not…

Should there be probable cause Jackley said state law enforcement officials do have the right to enter the reservation and arrest individuals who are committing a crime. He said search warrants would be needed. It’s reported it will take two and half months for the tribe to grow the product.
