South Dakota will join other states in a challenge to President Obama’s directive to school districts on gender rights.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says the Presidents order is too broad….
The order threatened civil rights litigation and withholding of federal funds to districts that restrict the rights of trans gender students.
Jackley says they wanted to move before there was a conflict with federal education funding…..
Jackley says the directive will be the start of a number of legal challenges….
Jackley says the suit contends the President has overstepped his authority, and undercut laws passed by Congress.
